World Championship 2002 Division I, Group A - Eindhoven, The Netherland April 20th, 2002 Kazakstan versus Croatia 12-0 - pictures

Kazakstan was without their NHL forward Nikolaj Antropov. Croatia depended heavily on goalie Sinisa Martinovic, a pro earning his money with German team ETC Crimmitschau. At the other end Vitali Kolesnik guarded the net. Guided by captain Anatoli Filatov Team Kazakstan dominated their opponent from the start. Defenseman Denis Shemelin put the 1-0 on the scoreboard at 5.38. Shortly after that Croatian coach Vlado Kucera decided to let junior Mario Novak play. The Asian team never looked back. While Viktor Alexandrov served his holding the stick penalty, both Fedor Polichshuk (41.22) as well as Oleg Yeremeyev (41.37) produced a shorthander. Sergej Antipov hit the puck home at 58.01 for a 12-0 Kazakstan win. Croatian defenseman Luka Novosel was kept on the players bench for the entire game.
